BREAKING GIST: Claude Puel named new Leicester City manager
Leicester City have named their replacement for the sacked Craig Shakespeare.
Shakespeare was dismissed a week ago after a poor start to the season. Claude Puel has been rumoured as a possible candidate for the job and Leicester have indeed turned to the Frenchman.
Puel was unexpectedly sacked in the summer by Southampton after guiding them to the League Cup final and eighth place in the Premier League.
The season prior, Puel took OGC Nice to a fourth-place finish in Ligue 1. He previously had stints at Lyon, Lille, and Monaco, winning Ligue 1 with the latter in 1999/2000.
