VAR To Used In The UEFA Champions League 2019/20
VAR will now be used in the UEFA Champions League 2019/20. UEFAxCo exclusive stated, that the video assistant referee (VAR system) will be used in the UEFA Champions League from next season (2019/20).
It will also be used in:
- SuperCup 2019
- UEFA EURO 2020 Final tournament
- EuropaLeague 2020/21
- Nations League Finals 2021
UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin stated, ”We ‘re confident that introducing VAR in August 2019 will give us enough time to put in place a robust system and to train match officials, to ensure an efficient, successful implementation of VAR in UEFA Champions League (UCL), the world’s flagship club competition.”
